Her area of interest in computer science is numerical analysis: in particular, optimization, ill-posed problems, linear algebra, scientific computing and supercomputing. She plays the violin, enjoys sewing, and has a brown belt in karate. She is married to a wonderful man, to whom she lovingly refers as Jaufre Rudel de Blaye. She loves classical music, early music and early 20th century music in particular, and speaks many languages including English (American and British), French, Russian, and German.
